# Vita Brevis Fine Art > Vita Brevis Fine Art is a family-owned Family & Children Portrait Art Studio in downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado. We create heirloom wall portraits (fine art prints, framed artwork, and digitally painted Black Label Masterpiece portraits on museum-quality canvas), not just photos left on a phone. We have 16+ years of experience turning 18,700+ everyday families into timeless works of art. Our name comes from "Vita Brevis, Ars Longa": life is short, but art lasts forever. Our motto is "Making Moments into Masterpieces." Phones fill up with snapshots nobody looks at again. We create artwork you walk past every day, and our mission is to help families preserve their history and legacy through tangible products they can hold, hang, and hand down. Kristi (photographer, B.A. in photojournalism), her husband Jay, and her brother Keith run the studio. We celebrate all families: growing families, extended families, single-parent families, families with pets, and children. Black Label family sessions can be anyone from a single person to a family of 12. We offer two finishes. Fine Art portraits are photographed on our gray background, finished with minimal artistry, and printed on matted board. Black Label Masterpiece portraits start the same way, and then our artists digitally paint them corner to corner in an Old Master style before printing on museum-quality canvas. Our signature experiences are Black Label family portraits, the Magical Fairy Garden, Christmas Fairies & Friends (during the holiday season), Tiaras & Tuxedos, and Premier Pets portraits.
